What is music hearing?

Ignoring the official definitions, let’s say that it is about a person’s ability to hear and distinguish some sounds, their combinations and rhythms. Of course, anyone who has no hearing problems can hear, but not everyone is able to distinguish fake notes, change the tonality of sound or to reproduce a favorite melody, only once after listening to it. Such inability means musical hearing.

How do you check if there is a musical ear or not? To do this, do not try to sing on the recorder favorite melody, and then upset from the fact that the created “masterpiece” - not a masterpiece, and what you want to quickly remove. Not everyone can control his voice, so it is not necessary to focus on this “test”. The easiest way is to check your hearing on the piano. Ask the person to press one of the keys of this instrument, and do not look at which key was used. After that, try to pick up the sound heard by tonality.

Also, the hearing can be checked by clapping your eyes. Ask someone to perform a rhythm like this, wait 5-8 seconds and try to reproduce it. It will turn out - the hearing is present. There are also special tests that check not just the presence/absence of musical hearing, but also its severity. Such tests today can easily be found on the Internet, they are not only informative, but quite fascinating.

But the most important thing is that the gloomy news about the absence of musical hearing should not be taken as a verdict. Yes, the perfect musical ear is a gift from above, but the fact that you will allow you to play musical instruments and quite tolerably sing, you can train. It will not be easy, but you can and should develop hearing, and, such a recommendation you want to give everyone, because in a new way to hear music, and the world as a whole - it is expensive!
